Getting Started with CoinBuddy ​

Welcome to CoinBuddy! This guide will help you create your first ERC-20 token in just a few minutes.

New to Blockchain?

Don't worry! CoinBuddy makes token creation simple and intuitive. No coding experience required.

Prerequisites ​

Before you begin, you'll need:

  1. Web3 Wallet: MetaMask (recommended) or another Web3-compatible wallet
  2. Cryptocurrency: Small amount for gas fees on your chosen network
  3. Basic Understanding: Familiarity with sending/receiving crypto transactions

Gas Fees Required

Token creation requires gas fees paid in the native cryptocurrency of your chosen blockchain (e.g., ETH for Ethereum networks). Always have extra funds for transaction costs.

Setting Up Your Wallet ​

Install MetaMask ​

  1. Visit metamask.io and download for your platform
  2. Create a new wallet or import an existing one
  3. Securely store your seed phrase (never share it!)
  4. Add funds to your wallet for gas fees

Multiple Platform Support

MetaMask is available as:

  • Browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave)
  • Mobile app (iOS & Android)
  • Desktop application Choose the option that best fits your workflow.

Keep Your Seed Phrase Safe

Your seed phrase is the master key to your wallet. Store it offline in a secure location and never share it with anyone. CoinBuddy will never ask for your seed phrase.

Start with Testnets

Begin with testnets to practice token creation without spending real money. Visit our supported networks page to explore all available options.

Your First Token Creation ​

Step 1: Connect to CoinBuddy ​

  1. Visit https://coinbuddy.io
  2. Click "Connect Wallet" in the bottom navigation bar
  3. Select MetaMask and approve the connection
  4. Ensure you're on your chosen network

Step 2: Choose Token Type ​

Token Types Available

  • Simple Token: Basic ERC-20 with fixed supply (recommended for beginners)
  • Advanced Token: ERC-20 with enhanced features (fees, minting, security controls)

For your first token, select Simple Token.

Step 3: Configure Your Token ​

  1. Token Name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "My First Token")
  2. Symbol: Create a 3-5 character ticker (e.g., "MFT")
  3. Logo: Upload an optional image (PNG, JPG, GIF - Max 10MB)
  4. Supply: Choose from quick options (10M, 100M, 1B, 10B, 1T) or enter custom

Step 4: Deploy ​

  1. Review your settings
  2. Click "Create Token"
  3. Confirm the transaction in MetaMask
  4. Wait for deployment confirmation

Save Important Info

After deployment, immediately save:

  • Contract address
  • Transaction hash
  • Network details You'll need these for wallet imports and DEX listings.
